Summary
We are seeking a Food Manager to join our team in the heart of the UK. This pivotal role is essential for overseeing food production processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to our mission of providing safe and nutritious food.
Responsibilities
Production Management
Design, implement, and continuously improve production processes across multiple product lines.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee all daily production activities, including scheduling and resource allocation.
Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules to ensure productivity, efficiency, and timely order fulfillment.
Hire, train, and manage production staff while setting and monitoring clear performance goals.
Lead execution of large-scale party and catering orders, ensuring consistency, quality, and on-time delivery.
Oversee raw material procurement, inventory control, and packaging logistics to support uninterrupted production.
Maintain inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels for all materials and finished goods.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support successful product launches.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and industry standards, including HACCP and GMP.
Monitor production metrics, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase output.
Set and maintain quality standards in line with company expectations and customer satisfaction targets.
Monitor, maintain, and coordinate repairs for all production equipment and machinery.
Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management, highlighting performance and targets.
Ensure production remains cost-effective, aligned with budget goals, and meets client expectations.
Uphold health and safety standards for all machinery, equipment, and personnel.
Maximize team efficiency through clear leadership, supervision, and performance management.
Identify and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce operational expenses.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and adjust production goals.
Motivate, support, and guide production team members to foster a high-performing culture.
Quality Assurance & Food Safety
Lead the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the FSMS across all branches.
Develop and enforce sustainable food safety protocols at every stage of the production process.
Conduct internal and external audits, identify compliance gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Manage and document pre-operation inspections, hygiene protocols, and sanitation procedures.
Oversee allergen tracking and regularly update allergen metrics for product safety and labeling accuracy.
Conduct product testing and shelf-life monitoring, ensuring quality consistency and food safety.
Maintain equipment calibration, validation, and proper QA documentation, including daily production logs and maintenance records.
Ensure all food safety and regulatory documentation is accurate, accessible, and audit-ready.
Team Leadership & Staff Training
Supervise, train, and mentor production and QA teams to ensure adherence to operational standards.
Deliver structured onboarding programs for new hires and provide ongoing refresher training to all staff.
Monitor performance, set clear expectations, and promote a culture of excellence and accountability.
Foster team morale and encourage continuous learning and growth within the team.
Digital & Delivery Operations
Manage company presence and operations across third-party delivery platforms:

Oversee product listings, pricing strategies, promotions, and real-time order flow.
Analyze sales data and platform performance metrics to inform pricing and promotional decisions.
Product Development & Documentation
Lead the development, testing, and rollout of new product offerings in collaboration with retail and marketing teams.
Create and maintain product manuals, SOPs, allergen charts, and labeling in line with regulatory standards.
Address customer feedback and complaints, investigating issues and implementing product or process improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate closely with branch managers to ensure uniform product quality and operational consistency.
Act as a central point of communication between production, logistics, suppliers, and customer service.
Provide leadership with actionable insights, performance reports, and strategic recommendations.
