Duties


----------


Ensures enough supplies, materials, and tools are available and gets the work started for the rest of the workers. Sets the pace of work and makes sure there is enough work to keep everyone busy.

Advises and encourages employees to follow the instructions received from the supervisor. Ensures that safety and housekeeping rules are being followed. Maintains current knowledge on policies, written procedures and instructions, and technical manuals in order to instruct and answer questions from other workers.

Plans and prepares limited menu items such as paninis, salad bowls, fruit bowls, soups, and specials options. Uses a flat grill to cook breakfast items, including eggs, bacon, and sausages.

Conducts inventory and ensures food and beverage stock is monitored and maintained to minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse. Procures a Government Purchase Card to purchase inventory, supplies, equipment and to pay for invoices.

Receives payments, issues receipts, and performs daily banking in accordance with resource managements' rules and regulations. Uses a computer to input data into Air Force financial management systems.

This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable strength test. This position requires the incumbent to complete food handler's training within 30 days of appointment. This position requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and drive a government vehicle on a regular basis. This position requires a pre-employment drug test, and is subject to random drug testing thereafter. This position may require the incumbent to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or special events.

The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement is citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60 mile radius) of RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.



Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME):



Must have experience performing the following duties:
Preparing a variety of hot and cold specialty drinks for customers in a commercial setting;

Conducting inventory and preparing audit results for inspection;

Making cash and credit card transactions for good or services provided; AND

Interacting with a high volume of customers in a positive and diplomatic manner.

This is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) position carrying out Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities for the Air Force and Space Force. If the selectee requires componency or visa sponsorship through RAF Alconbury, the hiring activity may, at his or her discretion, be able to provide 20 guaranteed hours per week.
