The Food Technologist will be responsible for designing and overseeing the development of
a small-scale industrial food production and packaging line for our growing brand. This
role supports the transformation of chef- and bar-expert-created recipes into commercially
viable, packaged products suitable for distribution across branches, stores, and
supermarkets.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and setting up a production system for batch production of prepared meals,
pastries, and ready-to-drink beverages
Conducting product testing for shelf life, microbiological stability, and compliance
with food safety laws
Developing packaging solutions that are cost-effective, safe, brand-aligned, and
compliant with UK/EU food contact regulations
Selecting appropriate preservation methods, packaging materials, and ingredients to
maintain product quality during transport and retail storage
Establishing quality control procedures, including temperature control, traceability,
batch coding, and HACCP compliance
Working with suppliers to source ingredients, packaging, and processing equipment
Producing technical documentation including allergen declarations, ingredient labels,
and nutritional panels
Supporting production training and hygiene protocols for kitchen and factory staff
This role is essential for bridging the gap between culinary creativity and industrial-scale
food operations, enabling us to expand from a single cafe into a multi-branch retail and
wholesale food brand.
