We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment that fosters student engagement and academic success. This role requires a strong foundation in teaching methodologies, along with the ability to mentor and support students in their educational journey. The Teacher will also be expected to implement effective behaviour management strategies and adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational requirements.
Duties
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum.
Provide instruction in subjects such as Biochemistry, Maths, and other relevant areas.
Facilitate laboratory experiences that enhance students' understanding of scientific concepts.
Mentor students, offering guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
Conduct tutoring sessions for students needing additional assistance.
Utilise effective communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Implement behaviour management techniques to maintain a conducive learning environment.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in scientific research projects where applicable, encouraging student involvement.
Proofread educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
Qualifications
A degree in Education or a related field is essential; specialisation in Biochemistry or a similar subject is highly desirable.
Proven experience in teaching, mentoring, or tutoring within an educational setting.
Strong laboratory experience is advantageous for practical science instruction.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and staff.
Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively while promoting a positive learning atmosphere.
Familiarity with special education practices is beneficial for supporting diverse learners.
