Helch Tap is launching two exciting new bar concepts within Winchester's latest venue. We are now recruiting a dedicated Food Hall Bar Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the main food hall bar, serving guests throughout the week with busy weekend trade.
This bar will be the central hub of the food hall, offering fast, friendly service, draught products, and a vibrant atmosphere. We're looking for a confident, organised, and service-driven leader who thrives in high-volume environments.
About the Role
As Food Hall Bar Manager, you will work directly under the General Manager, taking responsibility for smooth bar operations throughout a busy 7-day-a-week venue. This hands-on role requires flexibility across daytime, evenings, and weekends, with a strong emphasis on speed of service, operational efficiency, and an outstanding guest experience
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of the venue, including food preparation, serving, and customer service.
Supervise and manage staff, including chefs, servers, and support personnel, fostering a positive team environment.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas.
Coordinate food production processes to deliver quality dishes in a timely manner.
Lead by example in culinary tasks such as cooking and food presentation to uphold the venue's reputation.
Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage practices.
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Organise staff schedules, training sessions, and performance reviews to optimise team productivity.
Maintain accurate records related to health & safety compliance, inventory, and staff attendance.
Collaborate with the management team to develop promotional activities and optimise operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Proven experience in supervising or managing within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Experience in team management and leadership roles within the hospitality sector.
Familiarity with restaurant or hotel operations is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
Good communication skills with an approachable manner for both staff and customers.
Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is advantageous but not essential.
Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
