About the team/Department you will be joining:





An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forensic Imaging Unit, Joint Scientific Investigation Unit, as a Forensic Imaging Officer (CCTV) based at Bridgend. We are looking for committed individuals who have a keen and enthusiastic interest in digital media and who are looking to develop their skills in a modern and ever developing investigative business area. You will help deliver specialist imaging services in support of major and volume crime across both Gwent and South Wales Police force areas.


About the role and your key responsibilities:





You will be helping to recover and prepare CCTV/Audio evidence to help progress an investigation and later for use within the Criminal Justice arena where the evidence you produce will help secure a conviction.





From recovering CCTV on site at crime scenes to using some of the latest editing software available you will work in a busy and demanding environment ensuring that all work produced meets quality standards set by ISO17025.





You will provide technical support to operational officers and other JSIU team members. and participate in an on-call rota and as such this may involve working out of normal working hours including weekends.



Due to the nature of the work involved and therein the images produced within the Unit, the Post Holder must be aware that they can be of a very sensitive and sometimes distressing nature.


What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:





Ideally you would process a technical qualification in Video/Audio related subject and demonstrate experience working within this field. A working knowledge of software packages such as Adobe Premiere, After Effects & iZotope is desirable.
