About the Role

We are looking for

Forensic / Legal Nurses

to join our medico-legal team. This role involves conducting

forensic examinations and assessments

for legal cases, including assault, sexual assault, and criminal injury cases. You will provide

objective, professional reports

for criminal or civil court proceedings and may be required to give expert testimony.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct forensic examinations for legal cases, including sexual assault, assault, and other criminal injuries. Collect and document evidence in line with legal and clinical standards. Produce high-quality, structured medico-legal reports suitable for use in criminal or civil court. Provide objective expert testimony when required. Work closely with police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), solicitors, and specialised medico-legal agencies. Maintain confidentiality, professional standards, and adherence to safeguarding protocols at all times.

Person Specification / Requirements

Registered Nurse (NMC) with current registration. Experience or training in

forensic nursing

or clinical examination for medico-legal purposes. Strong knowledge of legal, safeguarding, and evidentiary standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage sensitive cases professionally. Experience liaising with legal agencies, police, or the CPS is highly desirable. Professional indemnity coverage for medico-legal work.

Pay: 30.00-140.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7.5 - 37.5 per week
