At Oakland hall we are lucky to be situated in a beautiful listed building which provides a home to home feel. We aim to provide the highest level of care and attention to each child in a friendly environment where learning is fun. We are dedicated to providing a service which shows a genuine regard for the needs of working parents. Above all else, we aim to give our children the best preparation in life so that when they leave us they have the confidence to build on the personal and academic foundations we have helped to establish.

Here at Oakland Hall we are able to offer 3 outdoor areas for our children and each garden has something unique to offer. We have a wonderful garden space which is called our 'Big O' which is full of natural resources and a big area for the children to explore. This area is our forest school. We have recently incorporated forest school sessions and are looking to add another member of staff to our Forest School Team.

Forest School Practitioner



We are looking for someone who has a passion with working in the outdoor environment and is able to offer outdoor learning experiences for children. As a nursery we are looking to extend our use of the 'Big O' and we would like to offer regular forest play sessions for children age 2years - 4 years old. This is an exciting new role and you will have the opportunity to have creative freedom over this role and make your own outdoor class room.

We are looking for a practitioner who has a qualification in forest school, who has had experience in the forest school environment or who has a qualification in Early Years.

As a Forest play practitioner, you will need to be confident in speaking to parents, understand the principles of Forest School, work well within a team and communicate effectively with others. As part of the team, we will offer training and personal development.

To provide a high standard of care to all children To promote the principles and ethos of our nursery To strive to understand the policies and procedures in place for the Forest School sessions and to actively seek out help, advice, and support from more senior members of staff To be involved in all aspects of the day to day running of our Forest School sessions, including cleaning. To be a reliable member of the Oakland Hall Forest School team, working cooperatively and flexibly whilst fulfilling a range of tasks across our Nursery To have a general understanding that every child is different and so are their needs To have a desire and self-motivation to learn and understand child development To observe each child's progress and consider their next steps developmentally To be involved in developing positive relationships with parents/carers and outside agencies with support from Senior staff To work productively with colleagues To assist with the supervision of children whilst playing and learning - both inside and outside
