Main Purpose of Job:
Responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product meets the required specification before moving to the next part of the process. Has the ability to respond to the needs of the business and embrace change. Heavily involved in teamwork, housekeeping and continuous improvement.
Forge Inspection (Primary Role)
Dimensional Inspection of product.
Visual inspection of product for damage or any other issues.
Report any issues via a problem report on the Q-Pulse system.
Split route cards as necessary.
Move completed product onto the next process as necessary.
Ensure product is stored in a safe manner.
Control of route cards to follow the product.
Work to the agreed Standard Operating Procedures - Methods of Manufacture.
Complete shift report at the end of each shift.
Daily inspection and maintenance of inspectors FLT.
Ensure that products are inspected to a high standard and that any issues are reported in accordance with the non-conforming procedures.
During times where there is no management presence, responsible for making sound business decisions and escalating to management.
Redeployment to alternative work if required.
Cross-train in other roles within Despatch and Inspection.
Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Shot Blast (Secondary Role)
Check the paperwork matches and is at hand before starting shot-blasting.
Decide which machine to use depending on size and condition of parts.
Maintaining correlation of parts if required as per QM.
Load parts into machine and set the shot-blasting time accordingly.
Move parts onto next operation of the route when shot-blasted using FLT.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential: Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Desirable: FLT Licence, Crane Licence.
