Job Summary

Working within a busy timber and builders merchant, we have a vacancy for a yard supervisor.

Salary will be dependant on experience

The candidate will be required to supervise the warehouse and yard area, arrange staff tasking, ensure suppliers and customers goods are loaded and unloaded correctly. In addition, to ensure the warehouse and yard areas are clean, tidy, well stocked and practise good health and safety. You will be required to load and unload delivery vehicles.

Forklift truck licence is essential

Correctly load vehicle with the delivery goods, serving customers with goods, Maintain a clean workplace, and work on own initiative.

Manual lifting will be involved.

1 Position at our Folkestone depot

Job Type / Category

Construction and retail based - full time position Monday to Friday 7.30am to 5pm, with alternate Saturday 8am to 1pm

30 min lunch break - monday to friday.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience within a builders / timber merchant environment would be an advantage, or a DIY store. Candidate must have a valid counter balance forklift licence.

Numerate and be able to work under pressure to a tight deadline / demanding environment.

Job Duties:

Load and unload lorries in a safe and efficient manner Move and stack materials Rotate floor stock General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned Perform general warehouse duties in order to maintain a smooth operation Receive/process shipments Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any faults or wear and tear
