Shift: 21:00 - 06:00

Salary: 27,200 rising to 28,200 after probation per annum, plus an attendance bonus of 250 per month.

Role Overview

As a Forklift Truck Driver, you'll be at the centre of a

highly active night hub team

, loading and unloading trailers to keep freight moving through the network. This is a

hands-on, fast-paced role

that requires precision, teamwork, and a strong awareness of safety at all times. Your ability to stay focused and organised during busy periods will directly contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our nightly operation.

Key Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

Complete all required pre-use safety checks

and ensure forklift documentation is accurate and up to date at the start of each shift.

Safely and efficiently load and unload trailers and vehicles

, maintaining correct weight distribution and load security at all times.

Handle and move freight

within the hub with care and precision, ensuring goods are put in the correct locations.

Operate forklifts responsibly

, adapting driving speed and technique to suit the type of load, surface conditions, and working environment.

Adhere to all site rules

and company

Health & Safety

policies to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

Report any vehicle faults, damages, or irregularities

promptly to the shift supervisor.

Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area

, promoting good housekeeping and efficient operations.

Support with additional warehouse tasks

as required, adapting to changing operational needs.

Work collaboratively with drivers, colleagues, and supervisors

to ensure the smooth and efficient running of nightly operations.

Essential Criteria

Hold a valid and

accredited Counterbalance Forklift Licence.

Minimum of 2 years' experience operating a forklift within a

warehouse, logistics, or hub environment.

Demonstrated ability to

load and unload trailers and vehicles safely and efficiently

.

Strong awareness of

Health & Safety procedures

, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

High level of

attention to detail

and ability to work accurately while handling freight.

Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a

positive and proactive attitude.

Excellent

communication and teamwork skills

, able to work effectively with colleagues and drivers.

Willingness to work a

permanent night shift

and be flexible to support operational requirements.

Desirable Criteria

It would be an advantage if candidates also have:

Previous experience working in a high-volume warehouse, transport, or distribution hub with cross-docking operations.

Additional forklift qualifications

such as

PPT or VNA licences

.

Understanding of

trailer loading patterns, load security,

and

vehicle balancing.

Familiarity with

handheld scanners

used within warehouse or logistics environments.
