Job Description

Job Purpose


We are seeking a dedicated Marketing Communications and Engagement Officer to lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive fostering recruitment marketing strategy. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the fostering recruitment programme attracts and retains the right individuals, delivering a joined-up approach across communications and children's services to achieve impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities



Develop, manage and deliver an effective fostering marketing communications and engagement plan. Research and apply best practices from fostering, adoption and related recruitment strategies. Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, ensuring value for money and continuous improvement. Collaborate with digital teams to enhance website content and increase high-quality enquiries. Support engagement with potential carers through tailored communication at each stage of their journey. Create high-quality, plain-English copy and content for digital, print, and social channels. Capture and share real foster carer stories to inspire others. Assist with fostering events, answering enquiries and engaging with prospective carers. Commission and oversee creative outputs such as design, video, and advertising. Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to fostering awareness activities.

Person Specification



Qualifications & Knowledge



Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience. Knowledge of online and offline marketing techniques and evaluation. Understanding of fostering, adoption, or shared lives programmes (desirable). Knowledge of communications planning and delivery.

Skills & Abilities



Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels. Ability to brief and evaluate creative work effectively. Data-driven approach with confidence in analysing campaign performance. Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Flexible, outcome-focused, and emotionally intelligent approach. Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences and stakeholders.

Experience



Proven experience planning, delivering and evaluating strategic campaigns. Experience writing compelling copy for multiple platforms. Demonstrated success working across digital channels and delivering digital advertising. Experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels and supporting senior managers.

Working Arrangements



Full-time role (36 hours per week minimum). Flexibility required, with occasional evening or weekend work for events.
