Position Overview
Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the successful candidate will be a key addition, within the Finance team. We are looking for someone who is strong in data analytics, excel modelling and with a good understanding of finance and a business partnering mindset.
The purpose of the role is to support the FP&A Manager in preparation of reports and carrying out analysis for key stakeholders. This will incorporate developing a deep understanding of the data driving the reporting by ensuring the accuracy of the data and implementing improvements to either the data or the processes driving the data where required.
This role is ideal for someone either coming from a finance background with really strong analytical skills or alternatively a Data Analyst with a good grasp of commercial finance, who wants a broad and wide-reaching role, requiring both technical expertise and honed communication skills. The preferred candidate will have some prior experience of working in a SaaS business, able to adapt to change, and someone who enjoys working with in a dynamic fast paced environment. This role will suit someone with a strong work ethic and who is looking to make an immediate impact on an exciting growth-stage company.
Key responsibilities will include
Ownership of the ARR reporting metric and delivery of the monthly ARR report along with the bridges reconciling the monthly movements
Business partnering with the commercial functions to create, manage and track sales commission plans. Ensure accurate and timely calculation of payouts along with input to continued improvement and refinement of commission mechanics
Business partnering with the budget holders on monthly basis to understand their cost centre performance - provision of cost centre level reporting against budget and reforecast
Coordination, and preparation of the monthly business KPIs that is critical to the understanding of company performance and used across all areas of the business, including Board level
Delivery of monthly board reporting materials with analysis of prior month performance, key business trends being observed;
Support the budgeting, planning and forecasting sales performance (ARR) modelling and revenues with key deliverables including building up a scalable and robust plan model underpinned by rationale and clearly understood inputs
Key contact for ad hoc analysis requests from the business units, specifically relating to both trading/customer performance
Qualifications / Experience
Strong academic record:
BA, BSc, or equivalent, 2:1 or higher)
Financial/FP&A Experience:
Experience working within a Finance or FP&A environment; studying for a professional qualification would be preferred but is not essential
SAAS and PE Experience (Preferred):
Experience within the SaaS industry is preferred with exposure to recurring revenue models, while any prior experience of Private Equity is desirable
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely.
Modelling Capability:
Advanced knowledge of Excel with experience of manipulating large datasets and modelling skills (pivot tables, filtering , lookups etc)
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in financial reporting and strong Excel skills are mandatory.
Proactive and Self-Motivated:
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives forward.
Stakeholder Engagement
: Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Dashboard and reporting experience:
Salesforce and PowerBI experience preferred.
AI Experience:
Experience with Co-Pilot, Chat-GPT, or other AI platforms preferred but not essential.
