PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 45,000 - 52,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The FP&A Analyst will provide critical financial support to BBC Chief Operating Officer Group business divisions managing major projects, including capital investments. Acting as a finance partner to Capital accounting team and project managers, the role ensures effective budgeting, forecasting, and insightful variance analysis. It supports decision-making through high-quality reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams, while also driving improvements in FP&A processes, controls, and reporting to enhance financial performance and long-term value creation.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
1) Projects Financial Support. Partner with Capital accounting, divisions and project managers to ensure robust financial planning, funding, and performance tracking - enabling successful delivery of strategic BBC initiatives.
2) Budgeting & Forecasting. Lead accurate and insightful budgeting and forecasting processes, helping the business plan effectively and allocate resources with confidence.
3) Variance Analysis & Reporting. Deliver meaningful variance analysis and commentary, turning complex data into actionable insights for Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
4) Cross-Functional Collaboration. Work closely with Finance Business Partners, Capital Accounting, FP&A, and business teams to drive informed decision-making and financial transparency.
5) Process Improvement & Automation. Identify and implement improvements in FP&A processes, controls, and reporting - enhancing efficiency, consistency, and long-term value.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Holds a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Extensive experience delivering high-quality FP&A services in complex organisations.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to perform insightful variance analysis and clearly communicate findings to diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software tools for data analysis, planning, and reporting.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, drive process improvements, and leverage technology to enhance FP&A effectiveness.

DESIRABLE

• Experience supporting capital projects or working with capital accounting teams.
• Exposure to process improvement, automation, or FP&A transformation initiatives.
• Ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration across finance, operations, and project delivery teams.
