The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and upgrading fire doors and associated components, ensuring compliance with British Standards and fire safety regulations. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent craftsmanship, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, safety-focused work.
Key Responsibilities
Fit new fire doors, upgrade existing doors, and repair door frames to required fire safety standards.
Install electrical enclosures in line with fire safety requirements.
Install fire-rated plasterboard and other fire-related materials.
Carry out fire stopping works accurately and safely.
Conduct inspections and ensure all work complies with British Standards and regulations.
Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure excellent quality management.
Keep accurate job records, documentation, and minor administrative tasks.
Engage professionally with residents and clients, ensuring strong customer relationships.
Work proactively with an innovative and solution-focused approach.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience working with fire doors, including installation, repair, and upgrades.
Strong understanding of fire door components, standards, and compliance.
Knowledge of British Standards related to fire safety.
Experience with fire stopping works and fire-rated installations.
Full UK driving licence (company van will be provided).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Good standard of record-keeping and documentation.
Ability to work independently with an innovative mindset and strong attention to detail.
Desirable
Previous experience in FRA (Fire Risk Assessment) carpentry or similar fire safety roles.
Additional certifications related to fire safety or carpentry.
