to join our Fire Safety and Compliance team. This role is essential in ensuring fire safety standards are met across residential and commercial properties through high-quality Fire Door Installation, Repair, and Fire Stopping works.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of fire safety carpentry tasks including fitting new fire doors, repairing frames, upgrading existing doors, installing fire-related materials, and ensuring compliance with British Standards. You must be able to work independently, maintain accurate records, and deliver excellent customer service.
Fit new FD30/FD60 fire doors in accordance with industry standards.
Repair, upgrade and maintain existing fire doors, ensuring compliance with FRA recommendations.
Repair or replace door frames, hinges, closers, seals, intumescent strips and other components.
Install fire-protective plasterboard, electrical enclosures, and fire-rated materials.
Complete fire-stopping works including sealing penetrations and applying approved fire protection products.
Ensure all work meets relevant British Standards and safety regulations.
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and compliance checks.
Complete minor administrative tasks such as job sheets, photos, and digital forms.
Ensure all works are carried out in line with Fire Risk Assessments and statutory compliance.
Customer Service
Liaise professionally with residents, clients, and colleagues.
Address queries or concerns in a clear, respectful and customer-friendly manner.
Represent the organisation with professionalism while working in occupied properties.
Professionalism & Teamwork
Follow health and safety procedures and safe-working practices at all times.
Work independently or as part of a wider fire safety team.
Bring an innovative mindset to problem-solving and project efficiency.
Proven experience installing, repairing and maintaining fire doors.
Strong knowledge of fire door components, installation methods and compliance.
Experience in fire-stopping works and using certified products.
Understanding of relevant British Standards including
BS 8214
,
BS 9999
, and Fire Safety Regulations.
Excellent quality-control skills and attention to detail.
Good record-keeping and minor administrative abilities.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Full UK driving licence (company van provided).
Desirable
FIRAS / BM TRADA / IFCC accreditation or training.
Experience working in social housing or property maintenance.
Knowledge of fire safety legislation and FRA reporting.
