Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Frame Maker to join our upholstery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various types of frames used in upholstery projects, furniture, and specialised structures. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision craftsmanship. The ideal applicant will possess a solid background in frame making, joinery, and the use of hand and power tools, with an emphasis on safety and quality standards.

Duties



Fabricate frames according to technical drawings and specifications using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment, working of drawings. Assemble components with precision to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic quality. Perform carpentry tasks such as cutting, shaping, and joining timber materials. Assist with heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials, frame work and seating to ensure efficient workflow while maintaining safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely after use. Will often be required to go onsite to measure, size and fit seating.

Requirements



Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, joinery, or related trades. Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and measuring devices. Competence in operating power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and other specialised equipment. Must be able to build framing for seating projects. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Physical fitness for manual labour tasks involving lifting heavy materials and seating. Must be able to read drawings and confident enough to go onsite to measure seating projects. Relevant qualifications or certifications in joinery and frame making are advantageous but not mandatory. Must be reliable, hardworking and work well under pressure to meet deadlines for projects within a fast paced environment. Previous experience essential.

Pay will be dependant on the amount of previous experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00-17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
