We've got an exciting opportunity to join our Fraud team in AXA UK, as a Data Analyst. As a Fraud Data Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding our organisation and making a significant impact in fraud prevention. In this exciting role, you'll focus on large datasets whilst being responsible for uncovering patterns of fraud and potential risks.


You'll have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in an evolving, fast-moving environment in the second line UK Fraud team. You'll spend your time identifying potential fraud risks using data analytics and responding to alerts and queries generated by systems or contact requests via one of our mailboxes.

What you'll be doing:



Handling data extracts for importing into databases (cloud/datalake) and manage data import specifications. Conducting risk factor analysis and risk screenings on our new starters to ensure compliance and security. Investigating data leakage incidents by assessing what information is being sent out, determining if it requires further investigation or action. Conducting a comprehensive analysis of large datasets to identify potential fraud risks, patterns, and anomalies, utilising advanced analytical techniques. Serving as the first responder for ad-hoc queries, triaging and expediting urgent or straightforward issues to ensure timely resolution. Building and delivering MI reports. Managing the fraud email inboxes and telephone mailboxes referring alerts to an appropriate fraud resource. Overseeing fraud-related email inboxes and telephone mailboxes, triaging alerts and referring them to appropriate fraud resources for further investigation. Tracking and documenting any risk incidents in the SCALA system, ensuring accurate records are maintained for ongoing risk assessments and reporting. Responding to automated alerts generated by various fraud detection, malpractice, and data loss prevention tools, assessing their validity and escalating as necessary.

What you'll bring:



Previous Data Analytics experience, with the ability to analyse large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activity, is essential for this role. Advanced IT technical skills using Office 365 including excel, access, SQL, power BI and similar query languages and PowerBI is essential. Proficiency in data mining techniques and the ability to create predictive models to forecast potential fraud is desirable. You'll have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in interpreting and reporting data including unusual behaviour that could suggest fraud. Ability to present findings clearly using data visualisation tools, to communicate insights to stakeholders effectively. Capacity to think critically and creatively to develop solutions and strategies for preventing and detecting fraud. You'll have both strong verbal and written communication skills, as these are essential for reporting findings and collaborating with other teams. Awareness of fraud, audit, financial crime, or compliance matters, and detailed knowledge of the Insurance Market would be beneficial.
