We're a founder-led fractional finance and operations agency partnering with ambitious small businesses who need expertise without the full-time commitment. Think growing tech startups, innovative hospitality ventures, and creative agencies - the kind of businesses that keep things interesting.
We're not your typical agency. We're building something different: a collaborative community of finance, operations, and HR specialists who actually enjoy working together, share knowledge freely, and aren't afraid to challenge "but we've always done it this way."
We offer project support e.g. 'detangling' of messy financial data alongside ongoing retainer work.
Who We're Looking For
We want sharp, modern bookkeepers who get genuinely excited about streamlining processes, exploring AI tools and automation, and finding elegant solutions to messy financial situations. You'll need to be AATQB-certified or AAT-qualified (or actively working towards), and experienced with Xero and QuickBooks.
Most importantly, you should be process-improvement minded - someone who actively looks for inefficiencies to fix rather than just accepting how things are done. You're curious about AI and automation in finance, detail-obsessed but commercially minded, and happy working independently whilst being part of a collaborative team.
The Role
You'll work across multiple client accounts on a freelance basis, bringing order and clarity to growing businesses whilst having the backing of a proper team behind you. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and bank reconciliations, preparing clear monthly reports, and supporting VAT returns and year-end processes. You'll collaborate with our Finance Director on client strategy and financial controls, and share your automation wins and AI experiments with the team.
This isn't about churning through data entry - it's about being a clear communicator who can explain financial concepts to non-finance founders and continuously improving how we work.
What We Offer
You'll get flexible, freelance arrangements with hours that work around your life, plus variety across interesting client portfolios. We run regular knowledge-sharing sessions on AI, automation, and best practices, and you'll have access to our network of finance and operations specialists. We love the community we're developing, so we organise social events in Brighton and London. Most importantly, you'll have support from a qualified Finance Director and experienced team, with the chance to shape how modern bookkeeping gets done.
Important Note
We're building a community of individual practitioners, not sub-contracting to agencies or practices. If you're a solo bookkeeper looking for flexibility with proper support, brilliant. If you're an agency looking to white-label work, this isn't the right fit.
