We're looking for Assessment Writers with Functional Skills experience to create high-quality assessment materials for our Level 1/Level 2 and entry level qualifications.



Assessment Writers are responsible for creating question papers and mark schemes which reflect the requirements set out in our Maths Assessment Brief.



The role is remote and can be done alongside other professional commitments. You will be expected to attend a number of meetings which will be attended remotely via Microsoft Teams.
This is a contracted role involving writing a set of papers in a cycle and it's required for Functional Skills Maths Level 1 and Level 2 and Entry Level Maths Levels 1/2/3.

Key Responsibilities

Setting quality exam papers that offer valid, fair, reliable and robust assessment and adhere to the specification and regulatory requirements. The development of clear and accurate mark schemes which support reliable marking.

Essential Skills & Experience

Knowledge and/or experience with Functional Skills Maths and Entry Level Maths. A degree in maths or related field. Experienced teachers with excellent knowledge of Maths. Knowledge of writing assessments/questions and experience of writing examination papers and the associated mark schemes. Ability to write to a brief. Good IT skills and a willingness to embrace new systems, as much of the associated work is computer based. An openness to receiving constructive feedback and the ability to incorporate that feedback appropriately to make amendments. Excellent communication skills. Strong organisation and leadership skills. The ability to meet deadlines and deliver work to a strict schedule. Excellent attention to detail.
