We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Maths Functional Skills Tutor to join our apprenticeship training team.

The role of the Maths tutor is to support and mentor a caseload of apprentices, assisting learners in enhancing their Mathematic ability providing evidence against the appropriate learning aims in line with functional skills and end point assessment standards.

You'll deliver engaging and inclusive Maths sessions, assess learner progress, and ensure each learner achieves their qualification within agreed timeframes -- all while upholding the high-quality standards expected by Ofsted and the DFE.

Main responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality Maths teaching, learning and assessment to a caseload of learners, both individually and in groups, using a variety of assessment methods best suited to individual learners in line with internal assessment procedures. Support learners to enhance their mathematical understanding and meet Functional Skills requirements at Level 1 and Level 2. Accurately assess learner competency and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Liaise regularly with learners, employers and internal colleagues to ensure progress and satisfaction. Develop and deliver engaging learning materials aligned to awarding body standards. Develop contextualised activities linking to delivery sessions which are standard specific. Maintain accurate learner records, progress reviews and documentation within agreed timeframes. Ensure compliance with Ofsted, ESFA, and internal quality assurance standards. Keep personal knowledge of curriculum and sector requirements up to date through regular CPD. Organise and manage own diary to support the referred caseload of learners to ensure at all times time is cost effective and efficient. Provide monthly, accurate forecasting of learners Maths's progression to support the learner achievements in a timely manner Maintain a positive and motivated approach to all aspects of your role at all times and display professionalism to all parties. Any other duties as reasonably requested as part of your employment.

Essential Skills & Experience:



Assessing: 1 year (required) Driving Licence (required) Teaching Qualification e.g D32/CAVA/A1 (required) Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths (Level 2) to individuals and groups Minimum 2 years of relevant industry or teaching experience Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS, AET, CertEd or equivalent) Excellent communication, feedback, and organisational skills Confident using online delivery platforms and digital learning tools Motivated, adaptable and able to manage your own caseload effectively
