Construction Health & Safety NVQ Assessors/Trainers
to deliver online and face-face training and assessment services to learners across the UK construction industry. You will play a key role in helping individuals and organisations meet industry training standards and qualifications.
This is a
remote/flexible
role with national travel, ideal for professionals with solid industry experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for developing competence and compliance in construction health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
For CITB Site Safety Plus (SSP) Tutors:
Deliver
SSP suite courses
online, such as:
Health & Safety Awareness (HSA)
Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
Refresher courses
for SSSTS and SMSTS
Maintain course structure in line with CITB scheme rules and learning outcomes
Deliver engaging, high-quality remote sessions using platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams
Administer learner registration, feedback, and documentation in accordance with CITB requirements
Ensure a safe and inclusive virtual learning environment
Delivery for the CITB courses will be predominantly remote (online), where the tutor will be able to deliver the content of the courses from their own home or office via ZOOM or Microsoft Teams.
(face to face course delivery options may be made available to the successful applicants).
Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience in the relevant roles to ensure they satisfy the CITB Tutor requirements and scheme rules, minimum requirements for this role include:
Holding at least one of the following qualifications:
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Safety and Health
NVQ/SVQ Level 5 in Occupational Safety and Health (or higher)
Health and Safety degree
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Part 2, NEBOSH Units A, B, C and D
Diploma Safety Management Level 6.
As well as one of the above qualifications where applicable, trainers must also hold the following:
A formal training qualification, equivalent to a Level 3 Award in education and training (AET) or CITB recognised exemption. (PTLLS)
For new trainers, a current certificate at or above the level of course the trainer is delivering must have been achieved. (SMSTS Certification)
For renewing trainers, demonstrable CPD records in lieu of a current course certificate.
All applicants must have good communication skills and be able to engage with learners with varied levels of skills, experience and knowledge, reliability and good planning skills are essential, successful applicants will be an integral part of the team in the delivery of these courses remotely.
For NVQ Assessors/Trainers:

Experience in the delivery of several of the following: abrasive wheels, hand-held disc cutter, cat & genny, CDM (awareness, principal designer, principal contractor), confined spaces, face fit testing, fire marshal, vehicle marshal, working at height, temporary works, asbestos awareness, IATP, and Building Safety Act.
Essential for NVQ Assessors/Trainers:
A

Or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

NVQ Assessor Qualification
is essential, such as:
D32/33
A1 assessor qualification
Certificate in assessing vocational achievement (CAVA)
