Voiceover Interpreting Services are looking for Oromo speakers to join our team of freelance interpreters and translators. Prior experience in interpreting/translation is desirable but not strictly necessary.

About Voiceover Interpreting Services

Voiceover Interpreting Service is a not-for-profit social enterprise founded in 2011 by the Govan Community Project to support the charity's work with the local Govan community as well as refugees and people seeking asylum across Glasgow. Voiceover has grown since its founding into a successful business working with diverse clients all over Scotland including local authorities, law firms, third sector organisations as well as other social enterprises and businesses.

Voiceover operates on the basis of three key social aims:

To promote equality of access to services by providing high quality, affordable interpreting and translation services ?To support the vital work of our charity, the Govan Community Project To raise standards in the industry, and in particular to support new entrants
About the role

Voiceover are looking for freelance interpreters who would be contracted to carry out in-person, video, and telephone interpreting as well as translation jobs for Voiceover's clients on our behalf.

Voiceover Interpreting Services are based in Govan, Glasgow but our clients are located Scotland-wide. Our interpreters work on a solely remote basis and there is an option to only accept video/telephone/translation jobs so you can work from anywhere in the UK. We offer competitive rates and reimburse travel time and expenses.

Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services between individuals who speak different languages.
- Interpret spoken conversations in real-time, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Translate written documents from one language to another.
- Assist with communication during meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Experience:
- Fluent in multiple languages, including English and at least one other language.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form.
- Ability to accurately and quickly translate spoken words from one language to another.
- Proficient in typing and using translation software or tools.
