Job Description
YorLinc provide a range of support to students in receipt of DSA (Disabled Students' Allowance) throughout the UK. We have provided accredited assessments and personalised training to students with specific learning difficulties, mental health problems, sensory impairments and physical disabilities for over 20 years. Due to the expansion of our services, we are looking for experienced Band 1 support workers, including detail-orientated Proof-readers.
As a proof-reader, you will support students by reviewing academic assignments to correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation issues while preserving the student's original voice and ideas. This role does not involve rewriting content, improving argumentation, or contributing original material, in line with DSA guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Proofread assignments for errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Provide clear and constructive comments, where appropriate, without altering content meaning. Ensure the student's academic integrity is preserved. Work within specified turnaround times.
Essential Requirements:
Exceptional grammar, spelling, and attention to detail. A minimum of a Level 4 qualification. Experience in academic proofreading or editing. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Additional Information:
Working hours will vary dependent on the needs of the students, and the number of the students you will be allocated to support in the role. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and have internet access.
