About the Role

We're looking for a talented freelance video editor to help bring our educational YouTube content to life. You'll be editing

talking head-style videos

that follow our existing YouTube format and visual style -- punchy, fast-paced, and highly engaging.

You'll receive raw footage, b-roll references (where applicable), and creative direction. Your job: turn that footage into polished, on-brand videos with

clean cuts, dynamic pacing, captions, motion graphics, and sound design

that hold viewer attention to the very end.

Responsibilities

Edit long-form talking head videos (8-12 minutes) for YouTube. Apply jump cuts, b-roll overlays, captions, and graphics that match our brand tone and energy. Add intro/outro segments, transitions, background music, and light sound design. Follow and develop our existing YouTube editing style for visual consistency. Implement feedback quickly and deliver revisions within agreed timeframes. Same day turnaround on edits. Organise and manage media assets efficiently for each project.

Requirements

Proven experience editing YouTube or social media videos -- ideally educational, podcast, or talking head content. Skilled in

Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Cap Cut or DaVinci Resolve.

Ability to turn around edits within

1-2 days

Strong eye for pacing, storytelling, and audience retention. Reliable communication and responsiveness. Understanding of YouTube content structure and engagement best practices.

Nice to Have

Experience editing

short-form vertical content

(YouTube Shorts, Reels, TikToks). Familiarity with YouTube analytics and retention graphs. Motion graphics experience (After Effects or equivalent).
