Are you an experienced and highly skilled Will Writer looking for the flexibility and autonomy of freelance work? We are seeking a dedicated and client-focused self-employed professional to join our team and provide expert will writing services to our diverse client base.

We are a rapidly growing estate planning firm, established over 15 years and are looking to expand.

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned freelance Will Writer to leverage their expertise, manage their own caseload, and contribute to ensuring individuals and families have peace of mind regarding their estate. You will work from our Bicester office, setting your own hours, and benefiting from access to our extensive client base of over 20,000 clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive client consultations, primarily via video conferencing and phone to understand their personal and financial circumstances, family dynamics, and wishes for their estate.
Provide clear, compassionate, and legally accurate advice on various Will types (simple, complex, trusts), inheritance tax, lasting powers of attorney, and other essential private client matters.
Draft bespoke, legally sound, and unambiguous Wills tailored to meet individual client needs and comply with all relevant legal requirements in England and Wales by using a software package.
Guide clients through the process of properly executing their Wills, including witnessing and signing requirements.
Maintain meticulous records of client meetings, drafted documents, and correspondence, ensuring strict confidentiality and adherence to data protection regulations.
Manage your own caseload efficiently, prioritising tasks and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
Stay up-to-date with evolving inheritance laws, tax legislation, and best practices in Will writing through continuous professional development.
Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients, providing exceptional service throughout the entire process.
Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience (minimum of 3-5 years) as a Will Writer or in a similar private client legal role.
Strong understanding of English inheritance law, estate planning principles, and relevant taxation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and empathetically to clients from diverse backgrounds.
Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and error-free legal documentation.
Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Proficiency in using Will Writing software and standard office applications.
A client-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide outstanding service.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CILEx, STEP qualification) are a significant advantage.
