We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Freight Forwarder to join our team. You will be responsible for managing the shipment of goods on behalf of clients, ensuring that products are transported in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. You will coordinate all aspects of the freight forwarding process, from selecting transportation methods and negotiating with carriers to managing customs documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of logistics, shipping regulations, and international freight forwarding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipment Coordination:
Organise and manage the transportation of goods by air, sea, or land, ensuring shipments meet customer requirements.
Coordinate and book shipments with carriers, freight agents, and other service providers.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods, monitoring shipments from origin to destination.
Prepare, verify, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
Ensure compliance with international, national, and local regulations regarding shipping, customs, and import/export requirements.
Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance of goods through customs.
Carrier Negotiation & Relationship Management:
Negotiate rates and terms with shipping lines, airlines, and trucking companies to ensure competitive pricing and efficient delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, clients, and other service providers to ensure smooth operations and problem resolution.
Tracking & Reporting:
Monitor the status of shipments, providing clients with regular updates on delivery progress.
Resolve any issues or delays in transit, working with carriers and customs authorities to address problems promptly.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, including delivery dates, costs, and any issues that arise during the shipping process.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service by addressing clients' inquiries, providing updates, and offering solutions to any transportation issues.
Advise clients on the most cost-effective and efficient transportation solutions.
Handle complaints and disputes in a professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Cost Management:
Control shipping costs by selecting the best routes and negotiating competitive rates with carriers.
Ensure that all transport costs are accurately invoiced and documented, and resolve any discrepancies.
Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve transportation-related issues such as delays, damages, or lost goods.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to quickly find solutions and prevent disruptions in the supply chain.
