Hours: 37,5 hours per week, Wednesday to Sunday, 9:00 - 17:00
Pay: 14.28 weekdays, 19.04 Saturdays, 23.67 Sundays, all pay rates quoted per hour
Duration: up to 30th April 2026
We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable
Front of House Administrator
to support services at Walton Community Hospital. This role is split between weekday administrative support for the
Community Nursing Service
and weekend reception cover for the PICC Clinic.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, service users and visitors, playing a key role in delivering a professional, welcoming and efficient service.
What you'll be responsible for:
Community Nursing Administration (Weekdays)
Manage inbound telephone calls for nursing appointments and general enquiries
Log telephone conversations accurately within a call database
Liaise with the nursing team to support ad hoc administrative requests
Scan and upload documents to relevant systems
Manage and respond to enquiries within a central email mailbox
Main Reception (Weekend Cover)
Greet patients and service users in a friendly and professional manner
Book patient appointments and update IT systems
Enter and maintain accurate patient records
Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries
Direct patients to the appropriate departments within the hospital
Carry out general administrative tasks including filing, photocopying and data entry
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple systems
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
Effective communication skills and an excellent telephone manner
Friendly, welcoming and professional approach
High standard of customer service
Ability to handle challenging phone calls and face-to-face enquiries, including dealing with upset or angry individuals
Able to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative
This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
