General Description of Job



Front of House Assistants will support the daily operations of the Club's front of house team, ensuring the highest of standards of service delivery and creating a seamless experience for our members and guests. This customer facing position plays a key role in providing a welcoming, professional experience to our members and guests. Front of House Assistants undertake numerous tasks within the food and beverage department of the golf club, working under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager and Club's Chefs.

Specific Duties



Customer Service & Operational Delivery

To warmly and professionally great members and guests, providing exceptional and memorable customer service during their interactions

To attempt to go over-and-above to meet the demands of the customer, ensuring members and visitors feel welcome and comfortable during their visit

As required, open and close the Clubhouse, or part of, in line with the Club's opening and closing procedures

When closing, ensuring that the Clubhouse and buggy store are securely locked and alarmed where appropriate

Food and Beverage

To be the point of contact to take food and beverage orders, taking the opportunity to upsell supplementary or additional products where possible

Efficiently and accurately serve food and beverages to customers in line with their ordering requirements

Liaise with the Chefs for allergies or dietary requirements relating to any orders taken

Play a proactive role in ensuring all food and beverage areas are cleared and cleaned promptly

To carry out tidying and cleaning duties within the kitchen as required under the direction of the Club's Chefs

Replace stock, change barrels and top up supplies throughout working times to ensure the department operates as efficiently as possible

To comply with all licensing law regulations in the service of alcoholic beverages and food & beverage services at the stated and permitted times

Event Assistance

Provide assistance during the running of club events, including but not limited to preparation, set-up, guest management, event co-ordination

Assist with setting up the food and beverage areas to meet the demands of the events taking place

Cash Handling

Handling of cash, member card and credit/debit card transactions using the Club's EPOS system. Where appropriate, accurately providing change, process payments and issuing receipts

Carry out mid-session till reports as required, and end of day cashing up in line with the Club's closing procedures. Accurately and promptly reporting discrepancies to the Food and Beverage Manager

Teamworking

As part of a small team, play a multi-facetted role across the food and beverage department to ensure the team delivers exceptional customer service and operational proficiency

Whilst working larger events, team members will likely have narrower responsibilities, yet will need to work closely as a unit to deliver an exceptional experience

To work proactively, anticipating the needs of the customer and ensuring that the Clubhouse and surrounding areas are cleared promptly

Health & Safety Compliance

To carry out everyday cleaning activities in line with Club procedures

Comply with licencing laws and food hygiene regulations

Requirements



Experience:

Experience within a hospitality or customer service environment, ideally in a golf club, hotel, or restaurant setting.

Skills:

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations.

Knowledge:

Knowledge of the golf industry or experience working within a golf club setting is an advantage. Understanding of health and safety regulations

Personality:

Enthusiastic, proactive, and approachable with a keen eye for detail. Passionate about delivering a high standard of service and creating memorable experiences for members and guests.

Pay: 12.40 per hour
