Come and join the crew here at Clip 'n Climb Cambridge - Your award-winning 'climbing centre meets theme park' right here in Cambridge - as we are on the lookout for a new member of the team to come on board as a FRONT OF HOUSE & CAFE TEAM LEADER.

This role is for 40 hours a week, and will be on a Tuesday-Saturday shift pattern.

Typical hours during term times are all day on a Saturday, and then afternoons into early evening on weekdays. During school holidays, this will change to whole day shifts.

About the role

We are looking for someone who:

Has had some experience of supervising a team, but would like to take the first step into managing a team and department. Full training is given in this role - we're looking for someone with the right attitude and commitment to learn, rather than someone with loads of management experience. Likes working with children and young people Enjoys a fast-paced customer service role
Our Front of House and Cafe Team Leader has a dual role.

During the week, the role is very much admin based, working with our FOH Supervisor to oversee enquiries for Clip 'n Climb Cambridge and our sister site, ZAPT Laser Tag, putting in orders - as well as making sure that our Cafe and Kitchen are well stocked and clean. You'll work closely with our Management team to make sure all systems are efficient, have great ideas for seasonal menus, plus manage the rota for the FOH Team. You will manage a budget for FOH, deal with ordering and suppliers, and oversee all food hygiene for the Centre. You will manage the Front of House Team, helping with ongoing training, managing recruitment drives when needed.

During the weekend shift, the role changes to be overseeing the FOH team to make sure all operations work well, whilst working as part of the team in either cafe, reception or in the kitchen. You will eventually be one of our Duty Managers.

This is an active role, and so we're looking for someone that likes to work as part of a team. This could include any aspect of the cafe operation from preparing food for birthday parties, serving in our cafe, hosting birthday parties, cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities, working on reception, answering enquiries, and ongoing efforts to maintain our high standards of health and safety and customer-care.

Time-keeping is important to you and you're naturally organised and able to prioritise your workload. Upbeat and positive - able to work as part of a team with a cheerful disposition and remaining calm under pressure. Interested in sport and physical activities - it's what we do, and it's great if you can help on the arena from time to time Happy to climb to a height of 10 metres if needed! You may be asked to help on our climbing arena from time to time.

Clip 'n Climb Cambridge is one of two climbing centres run by Walthew Leisure. Our sister centre is Climb Quest MK. We also run ZAPT Laser Tag in Milton, Cambridge. Walthew Leisure is run by Beth and Chris Walthew, and is an independent, family-run company.
