Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated service manager to join our team. As a crucial link between the bar, dining room and kitchen, your primary role will be to efficiently manage the flow of service to ensure our service standards are consistently maintained and exceeded through the efficient management of up to 8 staff before, during and after service. Exceptional customer service skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication are essential as you respond to guest queries by email and telephone as well as in a customer-facing role during service. You will play a key role in elevating the guest experience, ensuring the team are fully set with the information needed to provide exceptional service ahead of each shift and being on hand to assist in adapting to changes or issues throughout the shift. Ensuring tables are served according to their reservation schedule and accommodating dietary requirements and special occasions with care and attention are critical aspects of this role. Core daily tasks include:

Liaising with the chef and bartender on any menu changes; updating/printing menus and communicating these to staff. Communicating dietary requirements/special requests to kitchen and service team at pre shift brief; ensuring these are actioned throughout the shift Organising staff to ensure opening and closing sidewalk is completed. Maximising labour efficiency throughout the shift; identifying tasks and directing staff accordingly Arranging the table flow to maximise reservations and walk-ins throughout the day and suit special requests Providing table service alongside our sommelier during quiet periods

Last year, we relocated to Pepper St and opened a second restaurant on the premises called Twenty Eight, which focuses on British tapas and produce grown on our farm in Daresbury. Since opening, Twenty Eight has garnered numerous accolades, including Conde Nast "Readers' Choice - Best New Restaurant," local awards for sustainability, and a glowing review in The Times by Giles Coren. In addition to our dining offerings, we host a robust calendar of special events and collaborations with other local businesses throughout the year.

Hours:


The position is expected to average 30-40 hours (40+ hours on request) per week based on your scheduling preferences. Shift patterns for lunch are 10/11am-5pm/6pm and 5pm/6pm-11pm for dinner.

Wages:



Wages listed represent inclusion of tips (35-40k DOE & contracted hours)
