Job Description

Waiting / bar staff / Table servers / Shop assistant required for busy country pub, Situated in Downe Village just on the outskirts of Bromley, Orpington and Biggin Hill.

Must be 18 years old or over

and able to Work daytime shift (11am - 5pm) midweek and on Saturdays and Sundays.

Duties include:
Preparation. Before customers arrive, ensure everything is in place and in clean condition. Clean and arrange cutlery, set out napkins and check that condiments are full. Ensure that certain tables are reserved for customers who have made an advance booking. Discuss the menu with kitchen staff to check that all dishes are available and to find out about any specials of the day. For the bar area, ensure adequate supplies of ice, fruit, straws and clean glasses.

Greeting. When customers arrive, greet them and show them to available tables.

Orders. Give customers menus and tell them about any specials available . If customers ask for information about menu items / allergens etc, waiting staff offer advice. They also offer customers drinks while they choose their food and provide advice on wines suitable for their menu choices. Take customers' orders and send them to kitchen staff. Advise customers of any waiting time for specific food. In the Bar area, prepare requested drinks to the correct specification, offer advice on products and ales available

Service. When the food and drinks are ready, take them to the tables and set them out for customers. Check that customers have received the right items and return in a timely manner to check that customers are satisfied with their food. After each course, clear the plates and dishes before serving the next course. Also offer to replenish drinks during the meal.

Completion. At the end of the meal, waiting staff ask customers if they are satisfied with their meal and provide an itemised bill. Take payment, when customers have left, clear the table and prepare it for the next customers. In the Bar area, take customers payment, either cash or card, and thank them
