In this role, you will be the responsible for providing outstanding guest service from first point of contact to the conclusion of their dining experience . Victoria Square and the Orangery Restaurant is an award winning 5 star graded restaurant with rooms. We are open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner Tuesday to Sunday to resident and non-resident guests. The focus of our Orangery Restaurant is on offering a quality dining experience for all our guests.
Post Responsibilities
Working under the direction of our fulltime staff the postholder will:
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
Upsell menu items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including dining tables and service stations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders to tables.
Take prepare and deliver drinks orders.
Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving to provide solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.
Support team members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
For the right candidates there may be an opportunity to support the reception desk for the accommodation side of the business.
Qualifications
Great customer service skills.
Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
A passion for and good knowledge of food.
Knowledge and experience of wines and drinks (including cocktails) is an advantage.
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing orders effectively.
Excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
A proactive attitude towards helping guests and team members alike.
Ability to upsell menu items confidently while providing exceptional guest services.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Benefits
Hourly pay is dependent upon age and previous experience. In addition all staff receive a share of tips and service charge on a pro-rata basis.
