Job Title:

Part-Time Fruit Packer Location: Fruits in the City - Unit 24 New Broompark, Edinburgh, EH5 1RS

Working Days:

Sunday and Monday (moving to a Monday & Tuesday on appropriate Bank Holiday week of which you must be available)

Hours:

Sunday 9am to 3.30pm approx. / Monday 5pm to 8.30pm approx. (or when all orders/duties finished). Approx 9.5hrs per week.

About the Role:

Fruits in the City has been operating for over 15 years and is a specialist supplier of quality fruit boxes and healthy snacks to workplaces throughout Central Scotland.

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Fruit Packer to join our team on a part-time basis. The primary focus of this role is to assist with packing high-quality fruit into boxes and baskets for delivery and sale.

Key Responsibilities:

Carefully pack fresh fruit into boxes and baskets according to set standards Check fruit quality to ensure only the best produce is packed Follow packing instructions and presentation guidelines Maintain a clean and organised work area Assist with basic inventory tasks and stock rotation as required Work efficiently to meet team packing targets

Requirements:

Reliability is essential - must consistently show up on time and follow through on tasks Good attention to detail Ability to work quickly while maintaining high-quality standards Comfortable with some physical activity, such as lifting boxes and standing for extended periods Positive attitude and team spirit Be able to take direction from the Packhouse Team Leader

Preferred but Not Essential

Previous experience in packing, warehouse, or food handling Knowledge of fruit varieties and freshness indicators

Rate of pay:

Meets national minimum wage hourly rate. Pay is made at the end of each month through company payroll
