About us
BATA was established as a farmers' cooperative in 1894 at Brandsby, North Yorkshire, 10 miles north of York. Today we are still an agricultural supply cooperative with 4,000 share members. We offer a wide range of products, including bulk and bagged animal feeds, pet foods, heating oil, LPG, timber, fencing, horse rugs, seeds or fertiliser, to name just a few.
About the role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Fuel Administrator to
provide excellent customer service to current and new internal and external current customers.
You will have a proven track record in building strong customer relationships to improve awareness around product offerings. With an ability to deal with a range of challenges that ensures customer loyalty and maintains our solid business reputation across a range of deliverables.
Job Tasks
Adherence to safe working practices and Health and Safety Instructions.
Dealing with customers ensuring excellent customer service at all times.
Proactively sell fuel by negotiating prices, processing orders and negotiating deliveries over the telephone.
Take orders and payments for cylinder products.
Liaise with transport on issues and ensuring that customers receive timely deliveries.
Accurate completion of all necessary paperwork.
Be responsible for promoting sales by working proactively with the marketing department and sales reps.
Account management of fuel accounts including chasing late and outstanding payments.
Discussions with hauliers to ensure fuel is delivered on behalf of BATA in a timely manner
Keep accurate and up to date records of the LPG tank infrastructure.
Manage the implementation of new installations in conjunction with the Engineering department.
Discuss the LPG offer with customers and negotiate deals
Open customer accounts and complete LPG site information
Monitor stock levels of some products and place orders when required
Manage tank maintenance scheduling along with customer contact and recording of actions
Liaise with engineering department to ensure LPG issues are resolved
To undertake the weekly LPG delivery schedule
Flexibility is key, during periods of high demand or staff shortages you may be required to work in any position in the Fuel Department, to suit the needs of the business.

To be able to work calmly under pressure whilst dealing with variable workloads and changing tasks.
To have good attention to detail.
To be able to work as part of team as well as being able to comfortably work on their own.
To have knowledge of computer systems and be comfortable using the internet, although full training will be given on the Company software packages.
To be confident and comfortable using the telephone when speaking to customers and agents as well as face to face.
To be able to work to deadlines when carrying out tasks, therefore being able to prioritise workloads.
Confident in communicating with all levels of management and staff.
Excellent communication skills.
In addition to the above, the post holder may be expected to carry out other duties and projects as required by BATA as and when necessary.

The successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of the fuel office, Oil and LPG as well as depot coverage.
