Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) is looking for a Fuel Assistant to join our team. We are open to applications from candidates who are earlier in their career and keen to develop into a Fuel Manager position over time. Based at the Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant, this key role is responsible for helping to secure a reliable, cost-effective supply of straw and other agricultural materials to support plant performance.

We believe in creating a flexible and supportive work environment. This role is primarily based at Sleaford with some flexibility for remote working and regular site visits to suppliers and strategic storage locations.

A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer. The salary range for this role is 25-30k per annum (full time), depending on skills and experience. Role and Responsibilities:



As Fuel Assistant, you will help to source, procure and manage the fuel supply for the Sleaford plant, ensuring a seamless, year-round fuel supply that meets both quality and cost requirements. This is a development role: you will work closely with the Senior Fuel Manager and the wider fuel team, with support and training as you build experience and confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the team with sourcing and negotiating with fuel suppliers. Helping to build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and the plant's operations team. Assisting with the Annual Fuel Plan and ensuring alignment with client needs and stock requirements. Maintaining and updating the Fuel Tracker system for accurate records and compliance (training provided). Regularly visiting supplier sites to monitor stock levels and quality. Supporting reporting activities, including weekly/monthly updates and ad hoc reports as needed.
Over time, and with support, you will take on greater responsibility for procurement, planning and supplier management with a view to progressing into a Fuel Manager role.

Who You Are:



We are keen to offer this role to someone with some agricultural experience who is committed to providing top-notch service and is eager to learn. You may be working in agriculture already, or in an administrative / coordination role linked to the farming or rural sector, and be ready to take the next step.

You will:

Have some experience of working within an agricultural environment
(e.g. farming, agricultural supply, grain storage, contracting or similar).

Have experience in administration or coordination, ideally involving record-keeping, spreadsheets or logistics. Be interested in developing skills in procurement, supply chain and contract management (training will be provided). Bring strong organisational skills and attention to detail, and be able to adapt to changing requirements. Be a confident user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, as well as Teams and SharePoint (or similar tools). Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Have some experience or appreciation of working in a safety-first environment. Have access to your own vehicle and be willing to travel to various supplier and storage locations.
This role might suit someone currently working as a Farm Administrator, Agricultural Coordinator, Grain Store Operative, Logistics Coordinator, Supply Chain Assistant or similar who is looking to step into a specialist fuel management role in renewable energy.
