We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile

Full Stack Software Developer

to join our team.

Based in Hebburn, near

Newcastle upon Tyne

., this position involves working in the North East office and some hybrid working.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, with hands-on experience across a wide range of technologies including C#, PHP, SQL Server, MySQL, mobile development (iOS/Android), and Windows Forms. You will work on end-to-end solutions, from database design to UI implementation, using modern DevOps practices and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

What You'll Be Doing



Our development team is responsible for developing and maintaining a range of web, desktop and mobile applications hosted in both cloud and on-premises. We develop using Agile development methodology and foster a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement.

As an experienced developer you will engage at all points in the development cycle: design, acceptance criteria, development, QA and continuous integration of our software. You will ensure features are built using sound engineering principle and good patterns.

We'll encourage you to grow and develop in your role and support you to continuously look at new ways to improve development processes and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:



Design, develop and maintain internal software systems (web, desktop and mobile)

Contributing to and reviewing backlog stories and their acceptance criteria

Coding, and QA activities such as testing, code reviewing and unit testing

Mentoring junior developers and support team knowledge sharing

Build and deploy cross-platform mobile applications for iOS and Android

Integrate and manage services on Azure and AWS cloud platforms

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues

Participation in regular meetings with internal customers

Who We're Looking For



To help make sure we're delivering world-class software solutions, you must have:

Extensive experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.

Essential knowledge of the Microsoft .Net web stack including:

Working knowledge of C# .Net Framework & Core

Working knowledge of T-SQL

Working knowledge of LINQ and Entity Framework

Working knowledge of Javascript

Working knowledge of HTML and CSS

Working knowledge of IIS

Working knowledge of PHP

Hands-on experience in mobile development for iOS and Android (native or hybrid frameworks)

Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms

In-depth knowledge of relational databases (especially MS SQL)

Successful candidate should also be able to display:

Logical approach to debugging and problem solving

An eagerness to learn with a technical mindset

Understanding of object orientated programming techniques

Ability to work well under pressure, prioritising workload with efficiency

Ability to work with other teams within an organisation, collaborating on Product Design & Development projects

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Familiar with applying concepts of Databases, GUIs, REST APIs, Computer Networks and Protocols for application layer integrations.

Experience in handling CI/CD pipelines, creating & maintaining the required infrastructure in Azure and AWS.

A relevant Computing/Software qualification or appropriate experience.

Desirable (but not essential):



Experience in using Git / Azure Dev Ops

Experience in using Visual Studio 2019/2022

Working knowledge of JQuery

Experience in Window Forms

Experience in MySQL

Experience of MS Power BI reporting

Experience of managing Linux/Apache web stack

Experience of Bootstrap front end

Sector experience in technology and / or education

Work Arrangement:

Initially, this role requires the individual to work on-site until they have gained confidence in managing the responsibilities, typically by the end of the probation period. After successfully completing the probation period, hybrid working options will be available with a minimum of 3 days working in the office.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 am - 5:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Work Arrangement:

Initially, this role requires the individual to work on-site until they have gained confidence in managing the responsibilities, typically by the end of the probation period. After successfully completing the probation period, hybrid working options will be available with a

minimum of 3 days

working in the office.
