Full Time Barista
Job Description
Luckie Beans coffee roasters have a coffee cart within Edinburgh's Haymarket train station and are looking for a full time barista to join the team. This is a permanent role. For the correct candidate this could lead to a supervisor role.
You need to enjoy working with coffee and be able to texture milk properly for flat whites, lattes, cappuccinos and know the difference between them. Great customer service skills, a good work ethic, and positive attitude are also required. You need to be able to work on your own, be punctual, reliable, use your initiative, hold high standards and take a pride in your work. Good communication with our customers, colleagues and your managers are key to success. You will be a key holder, and responsible for the operation of the coffee cart when on your mainly solo shifts.
We are a coffee roasting business and our coffee served at Haymarket needs to be served to a high standard. Our point of difference is our fresh roasted coffee roasted by us in Galashiels and lovingly crafted by our small team of baristas. All flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos need to be poured with basic latte art such as a heart. A positive attitude and a want to pour latte art is key.
Our Edinburgh Haymarket station coffee cart uses our multi Great Taste award winning Love Lane House Blend, our espresso machine is a La Marzocco Linea 2AV giving the tools to make exceptional coffee.
Main Purposes of the job
To produce consistently the best cup of coffee using our award winning, fresh roasted coffee beans. To provide fast, friendly, efficient service to all of our customers To make sure the unit, espresso machine and floor are clean and well presented at all times. To communicate well with customers, colleagues and management Upsell stock items
Shifts
5 shifts per week (minimum 31.65 hours)
You need to be available Monday-Friday and the occasional weekend.
Typical shifts are below:
Monday-Saturday: 6:30am-12:50pm & 12:40pm-7pm
Sunday: 8:30am-5:30pm
