We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis to join our culinary team with an immediate start. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while adhering to food safety regulations. Full training can be provided if necessary.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including chopping, slicing, and measuring.
Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing utensils and equipment.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up workstations and assisting with meal service.
Experience
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; full training can be provided if necessary.
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
