A new opportunity has arisen for a dental receptionist to join our friendly, owner run practice in the community of Wem.
We are looking for a full or part time member of staff, and will consider either for the right applicant.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, patient records, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a welcoming environment within a reputable dental practice.
Duties
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient bookings efficiently
Answer phone calls, respond to enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and files
Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments and insurance claims
Assist with correspondence, including emails and postal mail
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-organised
Support the dental team with general administrative duties as required
Requirements
Previous office experience or administrative experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Friendly, professional demeanour with a customer-focused approach
Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
Proficiency in office software such as MS Office or equivalent programmes
Ability to work well within a team and independently when necessary
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the practice environment
Dental experience not essential, but would be beneficial. Full training given on SOE (dental software)
Working hours ideally 8.30am - 5.30pm with an early finish on Fridays. Please let us know in your application if you are looking for full-time or part-time hours.
