Job Description

We are seeking a Finance Manager who will be responsible for the daily running of the Financials for the business. Ensuring the sales ledger, purchase ledger and banking functions are reconciled and accurately completed. Updating financial records, making sure the organisation has their bookkeeping precise for budgets and taxes and to assist in preparation of and review the monthly management accounts.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales Ledger Function

Product Sales

Daily review and reconciliation of sales and associated cost of sales, to create daily sales journal into accounting systems Daily reconcile sales to bank account Update the daily operational spreadsheet to ensure availability for review by management team

Purchase Ledger Function

Input of supplier invoices into accounting system Ensure supplier invoices are signed for approval by the correct authorised person Ensure supplier is paid by the required date by way of tracking Review and analyse supplier accounts Monthly review of expenditure for the MMA's ensuring accruals and prepayments are accounted for and input into accounting system within a timely manner Monthly review and input of the depreciation calculation on Fixed Assets Maintaining the fixed asset register New supplier due diligence to be completed and logged

Banking Function

Process and manage payments for invoices and expenses Ensuring customers rewards and refunds are paid in a timely manner Daily reconciliation of income Monitoring and managing cash levels in cash floats held by suppliers Produce daily cash position in a timely manner Review monthly bank reconciliations

Monthly Management Accounts (MMA's)

Analysis and review the MMA's ensuring all aspects of the account have been input correctly to the correct cost centre.

Reporting MMA's to the Board monthly

Reviewing and approving the VAT returns quarterly

Person Specification /Skills/Education and Attributes:

Part or full qualified accountant or qualified by experience Strong written, listening and verbal communication at all levels Excellent administrative and strong organisational skills Exceptional problem solving skills Accuracy and outstanding attention to detail Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines Confidence to liaise professionally with third parties Knowledge of computers and office software Good numeracy and literacy GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths is essential You must act with integrity The ability to stay calm whilst under pressure
