Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn about food preparation and hospitality standards. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry and develop skills relevant to food service and kitchen operations.

Duties

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision Supporting the kitchen team with organisation and stock replenishment Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout shifts Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations Ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed diligently at all times Supporting the overall efficiency of the kitchen by performing additional duties as required

Skills

Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking processes is desirable Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary environment is a plus but not essential Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Good organisational skills with attention to detail Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector Flexibility to adapt to busy periods and varying shift patterns
