Summary
Ensure the safe and effective provision of professional cleaning and associated services in accordance with company objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties
Communicate with Branch Director effectively and efficiently.
Develop and sustain effective contract management strategy in accordance with company objectives.
Co-ordinate and control the workload of designated Trainee Area Managers and Area Managers and Area Supervisors and mobile teams across the UK.
Assess the needs of managerial and supervisory staff and communicate them to the Branch Director.
Ensure successful mobilisations and de-mobilisations.
Ensure service provision in accordance with specification and budgets to Key Accounts Sites and other sites that are managed by the Area Managers and any that are appointed to you by the Branch Director
Ensure planning, coordination and control of recruitment in accordance with company's policies and needs.
Ensure vetting of recruited personnel.
Ensure induction, functional and, if appropriate, refresher training of personnel is carried out in accordance with the planned deadlines.
Ensure Quality and other Audits are carried out in accordance with the planned schedule and that Area Managers are completing their audits in line with the KPI schedule.
Attend key sites KPI meetings as a senior member of the GSF team.
Ensure necessary corrective and preventive actions are carried out in accordance with the planned timelines.
Ensure effective communication with clients and client's representatives (formal regular meetings, etc.) and feed this information back to Branch Director.
Assist Helpdesk and Branch Director in complaint management.
Ensure that disciplinary issues are managed in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
Ensure wages management according to the defined deadlines with Area Managers.
Control effective use of consumables and materials budgets across GSF sites.
Manage contracts at risk.
Ensure availability of objective information on root cause in case of lost contract.
Search for new sales opportunities and ensure the increase of revenue of existing contracts across the UK.
Assist with completion of commercial documents; PQQ, ITT, costing sheets and tender returns.
Ensure compliance with applicable HSQEW requirements.
Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures and other deadlines.
Ensure forecasting is accurately reported and spend is accounted for on each site.
Seek ways to improve gross margin on all sites to ensure we meet our 25% target especially on key sites in the top 22 contracts for Sandylight Branch.
Attend and contribute to Branch Meetings and similar meetings in accordance with the role.
Support the Branch Director on a national level including stays away from home to ensure you are working closely with the Area Managers in their regions to support the delivery of cleaning services and to train them in accordance with GSF expected levels of service.
Work to ensure new sites are mobilised being a key owner of the solution and ensuring that the Area Manager for the site is supported fully until they are comfortable.
Ensure your Area Managers, Area Supervisors and Supervisors are motivated to support you and the Area Managers in covering unexpected absence and cover as and when required so that you do not have to be directly involved in cover provisions.
Train and support the Area Managers across the North of the UK in line with GSF management strategy.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required, commensurate with the position.
Fulfil the duties of the Operations Manager in accordance with this job description and related Internal Mandatory Documentation.
Ensure that the set objectives are met.
Ensure that quality of service provided always comply with GSF standards.
Comply with Health and Safety Quality and Wellbeing requirements at all times.
Suggest improvements to service provision or management system whenever possible.
Authority
Plan service provision and recruitment.
Plan corrective and preventive actions in case of nonconformity.
Delegate tasks to Area Managers and Area Supervisors.
Suggest improvements of systems and processes on sites and for the company.
Suggest and implement innovations and improvements at clients' sites.
Manage and ultimately change contractors if they are not performing with the Branch Directors approval.
Reward staff in line with our values, within the defined limits if they are going over and above .
