Our Personal Tax work is continually growing with lots of varied and interesting opportunities, and as a result of this, we are looking to grow and develop our Personal Tax Team with the addition of a Full Time Personal Tax Assistant based in our Exeter Office overlooking the magnificent historic quayside. This is an entry level position which offers the right candidate the opportunity to develop their Tax knowledge and work towards a formal qualification. We offer on the job training and mentoring. This role will give you the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in the course of assisting in preparing personal tax returns for a wide variety of clients which helps our trainees develop quickly and efficiently. Your day to day responsibilities will include:



Preparation of personal tax returns to include landlords, sole traders, partnerships and company directors.

Preparation of income and expenditure accounts for landlords, sole traders and partnerships.

Client communication regarding personal tax returns and ad-hoc queries.

Consideration of any potential tax planning opportunities alongside compliance work.

Liaison with HMRC on various matters relating to clients' personal tax affairs.

The Person:



You will have a keen interest in beginning a career in Personal Tax and a willingness to study towards a formal qualification (ATT) Full training costs will be met.

The ideal candidate will be educated to A' Level equivalent (ideally in Maths) You will also have strong English and Maths at GCSE level.

You will have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent numeracy and analytical skills are essential.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, has a willingness to learn and can pick things up quickly, to join our thriving team.

You will have strong digital filing and organisational skills as well as effective time management and the ability to own and complete tasks.

You must have a passion to support the team and a proactive nature with a willingness to work hard and a 'can do' attitude.

You will have strong keyboard and IT skills and will be a confident user of Microsoft Excel. You will have a desire to learn to confidently use key tax software packages.

This will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
