Overview

Due to the retirement of our longest serving logistics driver, we are seeking a full-time van driver to start early December 2025. The successful candidate must have a clean, full UK Category C driving licence with proven driving experience; have a good standard of literacy and excellent communication skills. We require someone who is friendly and approachable as there will be a requirement to interact with our clients and customers face-to-face and via phone calls. An ability to work independently and as part of a small team is a must. Salary to be discussed with successful candidate based on experience.

The role is 40 hours per week working Monday to Thursday 6:00am to 4:00pm, although some flexibility for earlier starts/later finish time may be required with prior notice where possible and dependent on driving conditions. This includes 1.5 hours paid breaks daily.

Duties will include:

Delivering medication and sampling materials to farms and collecting samples for pathology and laboratory analysis. Monitoring, retrieving, and maintaining stock between our storage depot and main site - some heavy lifting will be required. Basic van maintenance to include regular cleaning inside and out, monitoring van cold-chain temperatures, maintaining accurate van records and accurately logging all journeys. Following all written and verbal policies, Risk Assessments, and other instructions.
Routes may be local or longer distances; all are same day planned routes and may involve visiting multiple sites within the working day. Journeys to Yorkshire, Shropshire, Lincolnshire, and Essex on a rota basis agreed with the Dispensary & Logistics Coordinator and other colleagues will be required.

Full training will be provided with one-to-one support during the first few weeks. A mobile phone, van, and fuel payment card will also be provided.
