A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and confident Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This full-time role combines rewarding 1:1 support with broader classroom responsibilities.

1:1 Support - ASD (Morning Focus)

In the mornings, you will provide 1:1 support to a capable and verbal Year 3 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She is functioning very well in the mainstream classroom, working at the expected academic level. Your role will focus on helping her manage social situations and adapt to change. There are no behavioural concerns; this is a calm and positive support role.

General Classroom Support (Afternoon Focus)

In the afternoons, you will work closely with the class teacher to:

Support pupils who need help accessing the curriculum Break down tasks for children with mild learning needs Encourage engagement and independent work Assist with classroom organisation and lesson preparation
What We're Looking For

Someone confident in supporting core subjects (English, Maths, Science) A proactive approach with the ability to use initiative Calm, kind, and patient with a genuine interest in child development Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable but not essential
