Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 3 (Part-Time, Mornings Only)

Pay:

95-100 per day

We are seeking a

specialist SEN Teaching Assistant

to support a new child in Year 3 who has transitioned from a special school into a mainstream setting. This is a

highly niche role

, suited to someone with strong experience supporting children with complex needs.

About the Child

Diagnosis:

Autism, non-verbal, working at a

pre-reception level

. The child can be calm and focused, but also experiences

meltdowns

. He is currently spending

30 minutes daily

in our Sunshine Suite with one TA on a 1:1 basis. This time will gradually increase by

30 minutes every two weeks

, depending on his success.
About the Role

You will be the

second adult

supporting him in the Sunshine Suite. Provide

cover when the main TA needs a break

and as the child's time in school increases. When the child goes home (currently

9.40am

), you will support more generally in the Year 3 classroom. Role will be

mornings only, 5 days per week

at least until Christmas.
What We're Looking For

Experience working with children with

autism, non-verbal communication, and complex needs

. Ideally a background in a

special school or specialist provision

. Someone patient, flexible, resilient, and able to build trust gradually. A practitioner who understands the importance of

gentle transitions

and consistency.
