The Role:
The team is responsible for Fund Accounting oversight of third party administrators providing fund accounting services; providing technical and accounting advise; and supporting projects from a technical aspect.
Oversight of the third-party administrators in relation to NAV calculations on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis in accordance with the designated NAV Oversight framework, fund accounting, financial reporting, management of the auditor relationship, oversight of expense budgets and ongoing charges and project support.
The role is to support the Fund Accounting oversight team. This covers NAV oversight and fund financial reporting oversight.
The role will also provide technical and accounting advise internally and to support projects including fund launches, BAU integration and fund mergers / in-species from a fund accounting aspect.
The role would suit a technical expert and with knowledge of the following:NAV and Pricing knowledge
Product knowledge of fund structures - section 110, LP/GP, FCP, RAIF, ICAV, QIF, ELTIF, LTAFs
Accounting knowledge - IFRS, UK GAAP, Lux GAAP
Expertise in private debt, alternative credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, real estate, private assets fund structures, money market funds
Fund accounting and regulations (Ireland, Luxembourg, UK, Channel Islands)
Instrument knowledge - Private equity / Private Debt / Derivatives / Fixed income
Fund costs and charges
Key responsibilities for this role & experience:Financial accounting oversight including liaison with administrators, internal teams, and reporting to fund boards
Taking a lead role in the analytical review of Financial Statements prepared by administrators
Providing technical fund accounting advice to internally and to projects
Fund accounting oversight including performance fees, income monitoring and costs and charges
Excellent attention to detail and determination to see initiatives through to completion
Proactive and delivery focused with excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Ability to present to senior stakeholders clearly and succinctly at varying levels of detail
A self-starter with experience of working on projects
Ability to develop, strong working relationships internally and externally
Capability to chair meetings and workshops with stakeholders
Good problem solving and analytical skills
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables to deliver work efficiently and effectively
Reacting positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Have a genuine interest in learning and expanding their expertise and understanding of the challenges and developments impacting the Asset Management industry.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:Qualified Accountant or equivalent professional/academic qualification
Highly experienced individual from an Investment Accounting, Fund Management or Audit background.
Strong people management skills with experience of supervising a team
Ability and experience of communicating complex topics clearly and concisely
Stakeholder (external and internal) management skills
Experience of presenting to Committees and/or Boards
Ability to demonstrate M&G's values
