We are a small but enthusiastic team at the Llanrumney Hall Community Trust. We are at the heart of the Llanrumney community and was originally established to steer the regeneration of Llanrumney Hall into a vital thriving community hub to work with others to mitigate and prevent poverty in East Cardiff. Progress and great strides have been made in recent years to provide a space for the local community which can provide a life changing activities and offering services that are needed and not duplicated elsewhere in the area.
The Hall is a vibrant place, offering the local community the space and facilities that have been lacking in the area of Llanrumney for some time, including community rooms, a music recording studio, an arts and crafts facility, a gardening facility, classrooms, a privately operated creche, a privately operated community cafe, a multi-use facility for holistic therapies and much more. There is always a buzz when you enter the door at the Hall and we want this to continue, with this post providing the much-needed impact to make a difference to those on the East side of Cardiff.
The Llanrumney Trust and its Trustees are committed to making a significant impact with limited resources, and we are looking for a proactive and strategic Funding Manager to help us grow and sustain our work.
Role Overview
The Funding Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering the charity's fundraising strategy. This includes identifying and securing income from several different routes including from corporate sponsors, individual donors, other trusts and foundations and public sector grants. The role is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy aligned with the charity's goals.
Research and write compelling funding applications to charities, third sector organisations, trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies.
Build and maintain relationships with funders, donors, and partners.
Manage reporting requirements to for successful grants, ensuring compliance and timely submissions with the information needs of the Trustee Board.
Explore and develop new income streams, including corporate partnerships and community fundraising.
Maintain accurate records of fundraising activity and income on spreadsheets.
Work closely with the leadership team to forecast income and contribute to financial planning.
Support the development of fundraising materials and campaigns.
To be flexible and help with other elements of the Trust work when needed.
Person Specification
Essential
Proven experience in fundraising, particularly in public sector grants and other applications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and project management abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
A proactive, creative, and flexible approach.
Desirable
Experience in a small charity or non-profit environment.
Knowledge of Llanrumney and its surrounding area.
Understanding of charity finance and budgeting.
