Job Description

Hay Festival - www.hayfestival.org - is one of the worlds' leading art and literature festivals, binging readers and writers together to share stories and ideas in events live and online. The festivals inspire, examine and entertain globally, inviting participants to imagine the world as it is and as it might be.

We are looking for a talented fundraiser to work with the festival team. The post-holder will successfully contribute to the winning of sponsorship from existing and new clients, and manage sponsor relationships for Hay Festival, Wales. You should have proven success in a sponsorship or fundraising environment, have excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively and positively with a wide range of stakeholders.

The purpose of the role is to support to assist in fundraising and commercial activity in achieving annual income targets for Hay Festival. The key duties will include

Fundraising

- assisting with research and prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, development of proposals and reporting and data entry

Commercial

- assisting with research on exhibitors, assisting with data collation, advertising opportunities and wider commercial activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities



Assist both the Commercial Manager and Fundraising and Sponsorship Officer to research and proactively identify funding and commercial opportunities across a wide range of areas as necessary. Provide administrative and research assistance for the development of the membership, Patrons and Benefactors schemes, sponsors, advertising and exhibitor income streams and any other duties as necessary. Assist the team to deliver fundraising and stakeholder events, receptions and other events throughout the year and at the flagship festival Maintain and update accurate records for correspondence and invoicing and prepare reports as required Assist in the collation of data and report writing

DEVELOPMENT - Assistance in support of meeting the development budget target



Sponsorship



Assist in the identification and research of sponsors and high net worth individuals Assist in the development of sponsorship proposals Follow up on sponsorship requirements through ensuring that complimentary tickets, events, and benefits are met in line with agreements Confirm all sponsorship acknowledgements and ensure they are correctly represented in all publications and online (artwork for logos etc.) Update and maintain sponsorship pages and profiles (Sponsors Directory) Assist in generating sponsorship reports

Members, Patrons and Benefactors



Assist with Members, Patrons and Benefactors engagement, renewals and benefit Research Patrons and Benefactors to identify potential major donors Ensure Patrons and Benefactors are acknowledged correctly (Donor boards, print programme and webpages) Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events

COMMERCIAL - Assistance in support of meeting the commercial income target



Exhibitors



Assist with the research, selection, contracts and deliverables for all exhibitors Deliver the exhibitor plan, at festivals, ensuring that the contracts are delivered successfully through creating strong relationships (including exhibitor acknowledgements - print and online) Maintain exhibitor pages on the Hay Festival website

Advertisers



Assist with the development of an advertiser portfolio, building and maintaining successful relationships Ensure advertisers are acknowledged correctly, gathering artwork, copy and logos for print and web
